Using two antennas for receiving NOAA satellites

Yesterday, I received successfully NOAA 19 and NOAA 15 satellites, switching between two antennas placed on my car: a whip antenna, while the satellites elevation was below 30 degress and a V-dipole, for elevations higher than 30 degress.

Both NOAA passes had high elevations, 74 and 86 degrees respectively, the differences between those two antennas being obliviously. For elevations less than 50, the whip antenna behaves better on the entire pass of the satellite.
