How strong was the last geomagnetic storm ?

On 10th and 11th of May, all active hams in HF bands felt the huge effects of the geomagnetic storm over radio propagation. But, how strong was it? Just look at the below pictures, caught at about 45 degrees latitude, were such events are so unusual.
